Job Overview

Coursera is seeking an Indirect Senior Tax Analyst to join our expanding tax team. The selected candidate will work closely with the Senior Tax Analyst and assist in various areas of global taxation. This role involves coordinating with external consultants on diverse tax areas, assisting in the preparation of both indirect and direct tax filings, and supporting various tax-related projects. This role will offer the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of tax and make a significant impact at a high growth tech company.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external service providers to ensure timely and accurate indirect tax compliance
  • Assist with indirect tax return compliance such as GST/VAT and sales tax, including monthly accruals.
  • Monitor tax notices from various tax authorities and assist in audit defense.
  • Assist in federal, state, and foreign income tax compliance and other informational compliance requirements.
  • Perform administrative tasks including remitting payments, reconciling items, and interacting with tax authorities to ensure compliance and accurate record keeping.
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with corporate indirect tax, including compliance and tax accounting in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • AdvancedExcel skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CA license or Master’s degree in Tax is a plus.
  • Demonstrated history in managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Eager to learn more about taxation and has a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based environment.
