Job Overview:

Coursera is bootstrapping a new development center, with a focus on building a platform team in India. This is an unique opportunity to be part of the founding team that would not only own a mission critical charter, but also play a significant role in shaping the culture for the location. We are looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset who are excited by the prospect of building impactful 0 to 1 products. 

The Enterprise Admin team is responsible for building tools and support systems that empower administrators to effectively manage enterprise-level engagements. Their focus is on enabling seamless handling of administrative tasks, enhancing reporting capabilities, and improving the overall user experience for enterprise clients. The team primarily oversees two key workflows: the Enterprise Admin flow, which allows administrators to manage learners, assign curriculums, and access analytics and reports; and the Learner Experience flow, which supports program members in accessing and consuming content provided through their organization.

Responsibilities:

  • User Management: Streamlining processes for user enrollment, role assignments, and permissions configurations.
  • Contract Management: Simplifying management of enterprise contracts and ensuring compliance with terms.
  • Usage Reporting: Creating detailed and customizable reports on user engagement, progress, and outcomes.
  • Communication Tools: Facilitating admin-led communication with learners, including manual messaging capabilities.
  • Skills Planning: Assisting organizations in planning, monitoring, and achieving their skills transformation goals.
  • Support and Onboarding: Providing support for new implementations and ongoing configurations, including handling support tickets and reducing manual tasks for internal users such as Implementation Managers and Customer Success Managers.
  • Program and Contract Migrations: Managing migrations of programs or contract details in an efficient manner.
  • API Integrations: Developing and maintaining external-facing APIs for integrations with other Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working in a relevant backend software engineering role
  • Experience in solving complex, cross functional business problems by delivering viable long term technical solutions
  • Proficient in designing distributed systems, implementing APIs and writing automated tests
  • Expertise in designing highly-scalable and performant micro-services and storage layers using common frameworks, languages, and infrastructure (e.g. Java, Play/Scala, MySql, ElasticSearch, Kafka)
  • Expertise in using managed cloud services, streaming technologies and handling large data sets
  • Expertise in conducting rigorous technical research to solve high level business problems
  • Fervent belief in engineering quality and building technical leverage for others
  • Data-driven and strongly motivated by success and learnings through experiments and metrics analysis
  • Track record of mentoring and growing team members and setting strong engineering culture on the team

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with localization and internationalization domains
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a resource-constrained environment with limited guidance and supervision.
  • Proven track record of influencig with or without having a formal authority and effective roadmap advocacy
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical teams to deliver significant business impact 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and navigate through ambiguity and uncertainty with confidence.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products or services.
